Better day 03.
andowrites:
“Chop wood. Carry water.”
You can find enlightenment in the simplest things in life. Brushing your teeth, sweeping the garden path, doing the laundry. All of these are paths to enlightenment. It’s not about what you’re doing to get there, it’s about the state of mind you’re doing it in.
With a mind focused on the task, you can achieve enlightenment as easily as through spending...

The two faces of ILA
Tealight Candle Holder ILA, handmade from spalted black locust, on long winter evenings has pleased our eyes with its warm beautiful light.
Now, at the end of January, its time to start seeding some vegetables. We filled soil into empty candle cups and put some seeds in.
Hopefully some weeks later it might look like this. We think ILA as a seed starter looks as much awesome as a candle...

Salvaged
Maybe you know it from landscaping or ornamental horticulture or remember to have seen a spectacular tree like this one …
picture via
… that´s an old yew tree growing in France. The tree is relatively slow growing, and is the longest-living plant in Europe (up to 2000 years and more). We have salvaged a trunk from being burnt, a smaller one as this behemoth seen above though :)...

La Petite Fleur
After bustling around for nearly half a week to get working an old sewing machine that has been waiting to be called forward for a couple of years, Hannah finally could put her idea of sewing triangular pillows into practice.
Meanwhile the first three of them are sitting on a restored sofa from the 19th century. They are especially noticeable not only among vintage furnishings but also on...

decent vs dramatic
Double Time Clock MIMOZA
Double Time Clock SAPPHO
Two double time clocks we recently have launched. MIMOZA, the decent one, is left unfinished for a completely natural look. SAPPHO appears more dramatic with an oil-based finish that enhances the black and yellowish color of the wood. Both wall clocks are hand made from salvaged black locust, one of the most sustainable hardwoods available....

… hand stamped and finished with an environment friendly transparent impregnation …
… that highlights the wooden texture.
After the finish has been dried for a couple of days the base gets polished.
Bending the perforated metal frame that will get shaped like a head...

Smell Of Summer
Our workshop, located in the countryside outside of Vienna, usually delights our nose with the fragrance of wood and makes the stay in it quite a pleasure. These days you can also smell the summer. It comes from the full-blown lavender growing right in front of the entrance. We (and actually quite a number of bees) love this amazing little tree with its fresh aroma. To share the southern flair...

The birth of LIOR
About half a year ago our Desk Organizer 007 got featured in a blog post about decorating for the holidays, and the author didn´t see a reason why one couldn´t request a custom menorah as simple, modern Hanukkah decor. At that time we actually had been thinking about creating a modern Hanukkah Menorah. This post finally encouraged us putting the idea into action, it took some time though.
